An incredibly simple and delicious recipe for a gluten free apple crumble that tastes even better than the non-gluten free version
Ingredients
  • 150 grams Gluten Free flour
  • 100 grams Butter
  • 75 grams Granulated Sugar
  • 4 Cooking apples, peeled and thinly sliced (core removed)
  • Cinnamon, (optional)
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 200deg centigrade
  2. In a large mixing bowl add the flour, butter and sugar. Use your finger tips to mix the ingredients together. Continue until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
  3. Place the sliced apples into a 19cm (7/8 inches) pie dish covering the base and layering on top of each other. If you like cinnamon you can sprinkle a little between each layer (optional). Fill the dish about ¾ full with apples.
  4. Place handfuls of the crumble lightly on top covering all of the apples. Do not press the crumble down as this makes the crumb too heavy.
  5. Put the dish onto a tray (this is just in case it bubbles over) and place in the pre-heated oven for 30 mins. Check after about 20 mins as it's ready when the crumble is golden brown.
  6. Serve on its own or with double thick cream
