An incredibly simple and delicious recipe for a gluten free apple crumble that tastes even better than the non-gluten free version
Ingredients
- 150 grams Gluten Free flour
- 100 grams Butter
- 75 grams Granulated Sugar
- 4 Cooking apples, peeled and thinly sliced (core removed)
- Cinnamon, (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200deg centigrade
- In a large mixing bowl add the flour, butter and sugar. Use your finger tips to mix the ingredients together. Continue until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
- Place the sliced apples into a 19cm (7/8 inches) pie dish covering the base and layering on top of each other. If you like cinnamon you can sprinkle a little between each layer (optional). Fill the dish about ¾ full with apples.
- Place handfuls of the crumble lightly on top covering all of the apples. Do not press the crumble down as this makes the crumb too heavy.
- Put the dish onto a tray (this is just in case it bubbles over) and place in the pre-heated oven for 30 mins. Check after about 20 mins as it's ready when the crumble is golden brown.
- Serve on its own or with double thick cream
